Homeland Network
Service Network for Expatriate Indians
|
|
Today's educated Indians are increasingly mobile both economically and geographically. It has been estimated that several crores of Indians are now living abroad, of which a high proportion are successful doctors, engineers, computer specialists, attorneys and businessmen.
While expatriate Indians typically achieve the economic success
they seek abroad, often that success comes at the expense of their
connection with the motherland's culture, language and values. With
professional success comes the urge to reestablish their connection to the
motherland.
But economic, family and professional considerations make it difficult for expatriates to visit India frequently enough or long enough to reestablish themselves. Hence the increasing need for a service organisation to meet the needs of expatriate Indians and their families.
HOMELAND NETWORK functions as a bridge between expatriates living in various countries and their homeland. An organisation of this nature and scope is a long felt need in co-ordinating India and its children living far way either as Non-Resident Indians, foreign citizens or green card holders. It shall function not only as a counseling network to advise overseas Indians of their relationship with the motherland but also as an expert body to look after and promote their welfare in their motherland including travel and educational opportunities for their children, job placement opportunities, matrimonial alliances, property management and financial investment in the motherland.
